2015 Plastic Surgery Trends

TRENDS 3D text surrounded by calendar dates. Part of a series.

In our fast paced society, pop culture and social media impact many aspects of life, including plastic surgery!  In our practice, we notice trends based upon what has become popular with celebrities and reality TV stars. RealSelf, a popular website for cosmetic procedures, measures the number of patient inquiries for various procedures.  The most popular requests for 2014 were lip-related, influenced by Kylie Jenner’s suddenly full lips.  Inspired by this reality starlet, many patients sought to achieve their own full … Continue reading

Do Women With Breast Implants Have Better Sex Lives?

But another recent study posed a different question. Do women with breast implants have better sex lives? The answer, according to the results of the study, is yes. This approach allows me to address 2 issues: loss of fullness and poor skin laxity. The breast implants are used … Continue reading

Study shows breast implants don’t affect breast cancer survival

Occasionally a patient will admit to me that she’s a bit afraid to have breast implants in our Florida plastic surgery office because she’s concerned that breast cancer might not be detected on a mammogram due to the implants.  There’s a recent study from Canada that adds further reassurance that this should not be a concern. The Canadian long-term study confirms that women with breast implants who later develop breast cancer have similar outcomes as women without implants who develop … Continue reading
