Your options for nonsurgical skin tightening treatments may seem almost limitless these days. With advancements in technology, innovative solutions emerge regularly. In this crowded field, ellacor represents a unique, minimally invasive alternative for women and men concerned about lax skin in the mid and lower face.
What Makes Ellacor Unique?
What distinguishes ellacor from other nonsurgical skin tightening treatments, such as lasers or devices that use radiofrequency or ultrasound energy, is that it doesn’t create thermal injuries to the skin. Instead, ellacor uses a technique called micro-coring to remove microscopic slivers of skin during an FDA-cleared treatment that takes about 1 hour.
It extracts thousands of microcores—about 5-8% of the skin—without damaging surrounding tissue. These micro-injuries then heal during the next several days, stimulating the production of new collagen. The results emerge gradually over the following 2 to 3 months, with smoother, firmer skin replacing wrinkly, sagging skin. Ellacor combats the effects of aging, sun exposure, and other environmental factors that contribute to skin laxity.

Does an Ellacor Treatment Hurt?
We use a local anesthetic to numb the skin before the ellacor treatment so you remain comfortable throughout the procedure. Patients typically need about 5 to 7 days of downtime after a treatment session. Tracking marks may last 3-4 weeks post-treatment, however, can be camouflaged with make-up.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
Each patient is different, and we create treatment plans based on your specific needs. In most cases, a patient undergoes a series of 3 treatments spaced about 30 days apart to get the optimal results from ellacor. Because the procedure triggers new collagen production, you’ll see sustained improvements in the tightness and texture of your skin.
