Filling You In on Restylane® Lyft

Smiling woman, What is Restylane Lyft?

It seems there are always newly FDA-approved products and treatments appearing on the market, making it easy to get confused by the abundance of names and uses. But every so often, a product stands out because of its quality and proven results, and I decide to implement it into my services at my Naples plastic surgery practice. In this blog post, I’d like to highlight Restylane Lyft, a new member of the Restylane product line that I carry at my med spa.

What is Restylane Lyft?

Restylane Lyft is a new injectable hyaluronic acid gel filler from the respected Restylane family of products. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the human body that helps keep skin hydrated, firm, and resilient. It’s a preferred substance in many of the most popular fillers in the world.

In July, Restylane Lyft became the first and only injectable approved by the FDA to add volume and fullness to cheekbones, as well as smooth out smile lines with just a few simple injections. It is approved for use in patients age 21 and older.

How does it work?

As we age and gravity takes a toll, many adults notice a loss of volume and sagging in their cheekbones, along with deeper wrinkles around their mouths (known as smile lines). This is because the natural fat in those areas has started to deteriorate, causing the skin to sink inward.

Injections of Restylane Lyft in the cheeks and midface give those features the volume they once had with a smooth, natural-looking result. They literally fill in the hollows and wrinkles with a soft but durable gel.

What are the benefits?

The one thing that makes Restylane Lyft stand out from its competitors is that after injected, it is less likely to yield to compression. Therefore, some patients may require a smaller amount of Restylane Lyft for the same effects as other comparable products. This can make it a more affordable option that is equally effective.

Additionally, the product is combined with lidocaine, a local anesthetic, so there is very minimal pain associated with the injection. Restylane Lyft is part of the Restylane family, which has offered great results to many of my patients. Although this is not a permanent solution, most patients see results lasting an average of 10 to 18 months.
