Breast Augmentation Before & After Case 121

This 23-year-old Cape Coral woman found board-certified plastic surgeon Kent V. Hasen, M.D. while researching Southwest Florida plastic surgeons. She was drawn to Dr. Hasen by his large selection of before & after patient photos for breast augmentation. At his Naples practice, breast augmentation is the most common procedure Dr. Hasen performs.  

Dr. Hasen discussed options for cosmetic breast enhancement with this patient at length during her consultation. She chose silicone filled breast implants rather than saline because she wanted the most natural feeling results and wanted her implants placed above the muscle.

During the surgery, Dr. Hasen placed the implants through an incision at the base of the breast which can only be seen with the arms straight up as shown above. He used a subfascial pocket placement to provide extra coverage of the implant at the top and on the inside in the cleavage area to protect against rippling. This placement does not have the drawbacks of placement under the chest muscle such as added pain during recovery and distortion of the breast with contraction of the chest muscle.
