Silicone Breast Implants Before & After Case 230

This 63 year old Naples resident was referred to Kent V. Hasen, MD - board certified plastic surgeon in Naples, Florida for revision of prior breast augmentation.  The patient had 3 prior silicone gel breast augmentations by a different surgeon, each time the implant size was increased.  The last one was 10 years ago and 450 cc implants were used.  The patient complains of capsular contracture which is the hardening and firmness around an implant.  The contracture was so bad that it was causing pain.  The patient also did not like how big the breast implants were.  So she was seeking a solution to her recurrent capsular contractures and too big of breast implants.  Dr. Hasen specializes in revision breast implant surgery with the use of acellular dermal matrix grafts like Strattice and Alloderm.  The Strattice has been shown in studies to cut down on capsule formation when used in these cases.  Additionally, the patient needed a breast lift to reduce the skin envelope and make her more proportionate to her frame.
