Breast Augmentation Before & After Case 2

Before & After
Case Details
If you’ve lost a lot of weight recently, you may have noticed that your breasts have lost volume too. After dropping nearly 100 pounds over the course of a year, this 27 year old Cape Coral woman sought breast enhancement at my Naples, Florida office.
After doing a lot of her own research on cosmetic surgery options, she decided that she wanted silicone gel-filled breast implants. The only problem was that, at the time of her surgery in 2005, silicone implants were only available through select plastic surgeons participating in a decade-long research study. She learned that I was one of these surgeons, and came to her consultation wanting to become a study participant. Silicone implants received approval from the FDA in November 2006 for general use.
This patient’s breast anatomy required that I lower the inframammary fold. I placed 400 cc smooth round silicone breast implants for her breast augmentation. Naples, Florida residents who have lost weight should look closely at the before and after photos above and see how their drooping breasts can benefit from surgery. The implants were placed under the pectoral muscle (subpectoral) using an inframammary (IMF) incision. When using silicone gel-filled implants, an IMF incision needs to be slightly longer than when using saline implants, since silicone implants are filled before surgery, not after being placed in the breasts. To minimize scarring, many silicone implant patients choose a periareolar incision instead for their breast enhancement.
Naples women who have lost a lot of weight should schedule a consultation to discuss breast enhancement with Naples, Florida cosmetic plastic surgeon Dr. Hasen.
