Who Is a Good Candidate?

You may be a good candidate for ThermaVein if you have small, superficial veins (also called spider veins) on areas including:

  • Nose
  • Cheeks
  • Other areas of the face
  • Legs

ThermaVein can also treat sebaceous hyperplasia, a gland disorder that can produce yellowish bumps on the face, as well as milia, the small, usually whitish-colored cysts commonly found around the nose and eyes. If your primary concern is the presence of spider veins on your legs, you may be good candidate for sclerotherapy.

Reasons to Choose Dr. Hasen

Anyone who has taken part in the manufacturer's training can perform ThermaVein treatments, but few people have the experience and expertise Dr. Hasen offers to his Naples and Fort Myers vein treatment patients. Dr. Hasen is a board-certified plastic surgeon with more than 20 years of medical and surgical experience. For more than 10 years, he has supervised medical spa and plastic surgery services for residents from Fort Myers to Fort Lauderdale and beyond. His experience enables him to identify whether your condition is best treated by ThermaVein or another procedure. Before any treatment, you will meet with Dr. Hasen to discuss your concerns and choose the best plan for your unique issues.

Reasons to Choose ThermaVein

  • Non-surgical
  • No skin penetration
  • No anesthesia
  • No topical numbing cream
  • No post-treatment bandages or post-care regimen to follow
  • No recovery time, activity restriction or time away from work

The Procedure

The treatment is a simple, precise outpatient procedure. A highly experienced medical aesthetician will use the ThermaVein handpiece to deliver a very small microwave current to your spider veins in pulses that last only 0.2 seconds. The current penetrates the skin at a depth equal to a grain of sand or a pinhead, causing the vein to disappear immediately.

Theravein Machine

A treatment usually takes about 15 minutes, depending on the amount of visible veins. Most patients require just a single session and rarely more than 3 sessions. Some patients said they felt something akin to plucking a hair or a pinch, but others say they felt so little that they werent even sure the procedure had begun.

The Result

Because your spider veins will disappear instantly with each application of the handpiece, you will see immediate improvement. There's no downtime or waiting for healing, so you can begin enjoying your results right away. The leg veins tend to take a few weeks to resolve and initially look as if a slight scratch has occurred in the area. Results range from dramatic improvement to complete elimination of visible veins in the treated area.

The treated veins will likely not return. New veins can appear in other areas, which can also be treated. If treated veins recur or new veins continue to appear, follow-up evaluations after about 2 months and then annually can help you maintain clear skin.
