Are You a CoolSculpting® Elite Candidate?

Naples plastic surgeon describes the right candidate for Coolsculpting

If you’ve seen CoolSculpting Elite treatments profiled on TV or in a magazine, you probably understand that it’s a patient’s responsibility to choose the right practitioner to get the best fat-reduction result. From my perspective as a doctor, it’s important for me to choose the right patient to get the best result. Although CoolSculpting Elite is popular with a lot of Naples and Fort Myers, Florida-area patients, it’s not a perfect procedure for everyone. Here are some guidelines to remember if you’re thinking of freezing your fat away:

  • It’s not a substitute for liposuction. CoolSculpting Elite and liposuction both have the same objective: to remove unwanted fat. However, their methods of action are very different. While liposuction sucks fat away through a small tube, CoolSculpting Elite freezes it without an incision, causing fat cells to die and be filtered out of the body naturally. Although CoolSculpting Elite creates measurable results, it can’t yet be used on certain parts of the body, such as the face, neck, arms, or lower legs. If you want to target those certain areas, liposuction may be best for you.
  • It’s better for smaller volumes of fat. CoolSculpting Elite is ideal for treating localized areas of fat, such as a muffin top or belly bulge, but patients can expect to see a total fat reduction of about 25%. For many, this is precisely the right amount of improvement to reduce areas of more stubborn fat and achieve a smoother contour and a more toned look. For those who want more extensive results, more invasive liposuction may be best.
  • A healthy lifestyle is still essential. Although the fat cells removed via CoolSculpting Elite are gone, you can still gain weight after your treatment based on your diet and exercise habits. The best CoolSculpting Elite patients are those who are already committed to healthy, active living and just need a little extra help to overcome heredity, hormones, or other uncontrollable factors that contribute to fat accumulation.

If you’re still unsure about your candidacy for CoolSculpting Elite, I invite you to contact us today to request your consultation. During this appointment, I’ll evaluate your areas of concern and talk to you about your goals and lifestyle to help you decide whether CoolSculpting Elite is the best way to help you achieve your goals.
